At CrossFit Breakdown, we believe that mobility and fitness go hand and hand. With that in mind, we offer a yoga class during the week along with our regular CrossFit classes.
Classes are led by a member of our gym who loves to contribute to the health and well-being of not only our members but anyone looking to improve their health.
Gentle Yoga: We all could use time to tune into our own body and mind on a personal level. The Gentle Yoga class give us the ability focus on our inner selves through stretching and meditation.
Dr. Becky is a senior scientist at RoundGlass and a Research Professor Affiliate at the University of Connecticut, with a PhD in Neurobiology and Physiology. Her research focuses on evaluating the scientific benefits of yoga, meditation and mindfulness for a variety of health conditions, including pain, hypertension, mental health and concussion recovery. Becky has taught university courses on the Neuroscience of Meditation and Health Psychology, and she led university mindfulness programs at UConn for the Counseling and Mental Health Department and athletic teams. Becky has been teaching yoga, meditation and other wellness classes since 2005, with over 1000+ hours of yoga teaching experience. Becky is a passionate leader, offering a unique combination of spiritual insight and fact-based science, which she communicates in an accessible manner to inspire people to reach their full potential. In her free time, Becky enjoys hiking, skiing, trail running, traveling, competing in triathlons, and spending time with her family, including 3 daughters, and their new puppy
